37 weeks

Im 37 weeks today and you know what that means? It means I am considered full term and he is completely safe to survive outside the womb. How exciting is that! I don't think he will be making his way anytime soon but you never know. With the way things are going lately I've been starting to agree with the rest of my family that he MAY be a little early, but like I said you never know. Apart of me also thinks he'll be a Valentines Baby!! What do you think?

Well I don't have alot to update on but we did get some pregnancy shots taken today. They said It could take about 2 1/2 weeks before they come in so by the time we can share them with you all, we will probably have more exciting pics for you all to see.
(wink, wink) Anyway they turned out really well and I can't wait to share them. Hopefully they get here before baby comes. I have another OB appointment on thursday and will probably update more after that, until then here's a couple of our regular belly shots of me at 37 weeks!!!

Im definitely going to miss that Belly...I just love it!
I caught a short video of the baby with the hiccups the other day. He gets the hiccups about twice a day now and usually right after I eat an orange...?? Anyway I hope you can see them, there just little jumps right after the other on the right side of my belly ...... so watch closely!

2nd OB update

Well I went to my second OB appointment today and everything looks perfectly normal. She had my ultrasound results and we scored 8/8. This pregnancy has gone so perfectly and we feel so blessed. Im always nervous when I go for an ultrasound or an appointment that they'll tell me something doesn't look normal, and Im just so so greatfull when I hear them tell me everything looks just fine. I remember before getting pregnant all we cared about or thought about was what the sex would be and all those little things but when your actually going through it, all you seem to care about is their health. We are truly so blessed!!!

She said he weighed in at about 5 lbs and a quarter at the ultrasound on January 8th and I heard they usually put on about half an ounce a day so he's probably almost 6lbs right now. I am also dilated 1 CM and 50% effaced, which doesn't really mean anything right now but It was exciting news to me!! 1 CM .....that just means we're one step closer to meeting our little boy!

Anyway he still moves around like crazy and this last week he's found a new hiding spot for his feet! Yup.. he found my ribs and loves to keep them in there all the time. Its such an awkward feeling but I love it. I get nervous when Im bending over for something because it feels like my ribs are squishing him.

I'll be 37 weeks on monday and for being 9 months pregnant, I feel pretty darn good. My only complaint is sleeping really sucks right now. My back just kills and I have to constantly toss and turn so Im not laying in one spot for too long. My heating pad is a life saver and seems to help alot. I haven't had any charlie horses in a whole month so as long as Im not getting those, I can handle anything right now !!!!! Its also alot better now that I dont have to stress about not getting enough sleep for work!! I have been on maternity leave for a week now and It's been so nice. I wanted to get into a days schedule right away but my body is still trying to adjust. I've been going to bed at 7am for so long, and I think its going to take me a little while yet. I've been able to get so much done this week. I washed all his clothes and bedding and we installed his carseat on thursday! It was so exciting to hang all his clothes in the closet and to have his carseat all ready to go in the back seat. Its so hard to imagine that in just a few weeks we'll have our baby driving around with us back there!! We're almost all ready, but we still have a couple things left to do. My next important task is to get our labour bag ready. Other than that we are pretty much all set.

I'll post some more belly pics here soon!!

Here's another short video ....He kicks right at the beginning and there's nothing after that. ENJOY!!

OB update..

I went for my first OB appointment today and met the doctor who will most likely be delivering our baby. She seems like a really great doctor. I was a little nervous we were going to get stuck with a crappy one since we were referred so last minute, but I couldn't have chosen a better one myself. The only thing Im disapointed about is that she only delivers at the Rocky View Hospital....I really wanted to deliver at the Peter Lougheed but theres nothing we can do about that I guess. We'll have to make a couple trips to familiarize ourselves to the area and where we're supposed to go because neither of us have been there before. I hear its a really good hospital though.

Well Nothing exciting happend at this appointment, basicly we just answered a bunch of history questions and went through my history thus far. She has also changed our due date to February 12 now. Which means I am actually 35 weeks pregnant and one week closer to meeting our little boy. She was looking through our ultrasound records and said that when you have an ultrasound in the early stages they are very accurate on the due date they give you. Our first ultrasound (at 7 weeks) gave us a due date of Feb 12 and especially because all our other ultrasounds have given us that due date as well she said we should now go by that date instead. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!! Mom and Dad are a little bummed about it. They booked their flights for the 17th so they may not get here until a couple days after he's born. Atleast this way they will spend all their vacation time here with their grandson, instead of anxiously waiting a few days for his arrival. You never know what can happen though. I could be really late or early! We'll just have to see.

My next OB appnt is next thursday which should be interesting. She will check to see if I've began effacing or dilating at all and make sure baby is in proper position etc... I can't believe how close we are now ....I am one excited momma-to-be right now!!

Well Our ulrasound went well and everything looks normal. She didn't mention the weight or anything like that, and I forgot to ask so we'll find that out next week I guess. I asked for a couple pictures, but again they are hard to make out because there's just no room in there to really see anything, You can make out his face pretty good though.

He has his hands up by his face, but you can't really make that out.

His foot I guess??

34 Weeks

Not a whole lot to update you on again. Not much has changed in the last couple weeks since my last post. Belly grew a little and a couple more symptoms I could complain and vent about but I'll keep that to myself this time.

I FINALLY bought a weigh scale a couple weeks ago. I have been traking my weight only once a month at my prenatal visits. I've been wanting to get a certain kind for along time but everytime we would go to costco we would forget about it. My doctor told me I should gain about 26-30 lbs so Im proud to say that I've only gained 19 lbs so far. I hear that the last trimester is when you gain the most, so we'll see what happens. I only have 6 weeks left so I really doubt I will gain more than 10 lbs in that time.

Today is my first OB appointment who I will be seeing once a week from here on out until he's born. I don't really know what to expect but Im excited for it. It's going to be a rough and exhausting day on us though because As soon as we get off work at 7am we have to go home and then drive all the way down south to Glenmore for our appointment at 9:15am and then we have to stay in town for a few hours for our ultrasound appointment at 1:20pm. We will get hardly any sleep before we go back to work tonight. Ahhh Only 2 more days!!

So we have found ourselves a fun little game to play lately. It's called "Name that Lump!" LoL He is constantly pushing and pressing against my tummy, causing very interesting Lumps so we take turns guessing....Is that an elbow? A knee? A foot? It's amazing and so much fun to try and guess what part of him is pushing against me. It is by far the best game Ive ever played!! ;)

Well I will probably post again tomorrow to give an update on the ultrasound and my first OB appointment. Anyway here's a couple shots of the belly at 34 weeks.
