Merrry Christmas

Your 2nd Christmas was so much more fun and amazing than last year! You were so much more aware of what was going on and it was alot of fun for you. You loved going for drives around the neighborhood and staring and pointing at all the christmas lights. You would point and say "Wwoowww" You loved the festival of lights even though we could only stay for a few minutes because the weather was so cold!

Every morning when we go downstairs you see the christmas tree and all the decorations and you get so excited and run around shouting "HO,HO,HO" Every time you see anything santa you say "HO,HO,HO" (EXCEPT SANTA HIMSELF OF COURSE) You are terrified of Santa Clause. So much so that we didn't even bother taking you to see him a the mall.

Santa came to daddy's fire fighting Christmas party and you sat on his lap and you "FREAKED" so we didnt want to put you through that for our benefit of a picture so the pic with santa at daddy's christmas party will have to do for this year. LoL

So for Christmas eve we spent most of the day at Grandma Beechers. We had our traditional munchie feast and then we headed for the airport to pick up Nana and Papa! You played a little shy of course but you did smile when you saw them. They spent the night at our house and we woke up Christmas morning around 8:30 to open your presents. I don't think Santa should even bother bringing you Christmas presents because you get SO spoiled by your grandparents!! You got a really cool ridable winnie the pooh train, dinosaurs, clothes, books, all sorts of other toys, a fireman build a bear with a message from Nana and Papa, a desk, growth chart, dinseyland stuff, and so much more!!!

We had to hurry and get to Grandmas by 10:30 so we could open gifts there. You got a really cool train set with a the desk and everything. You got a tigger pillow, books, clothes.....and so much more as well. I guess thats what you get when your the first grandchild :)

It was such a fun christmas and was so nice to have Nana and Papa here to share it with us! Christmas isn't the same without your family around!

22 months

Grayden is 2 months shy of being 2 years old! ....... Wowza!

This is such an exciting month! Christmas is just a few days away, Nana and Papa are coming home for Christmas and Daddy is done work for a LONG while soon!
Grayden this has been such a fun month with you getting ready for christmas.

So whats new with Gray?
Well you have started to say a few more words. You cut a couple teeth this month (and still teething) and you keep getting more and more adorable by the day!
You are such a busy boy these days and you love to make a mess! Oh the messes you make!!!! Breakfast, Lunch, and supper are SO much fun right now! You love to throw your food on the ground for some reason and you DO NOT listen when we tell you NO! You are still a pretty big eater especially when we have your favorite dishes but as soon as you are done or you don't want something........it's on the floor!

You are doing OK with bedtime right now. You are still going to sleep in your own room and you stay there .....most nights. You have been teething really bad and there have been a couple nights where I have woke up with you sleeping on my legs. Your a sneaky little guy :) I've heard you a couple times running down the hall into my room and when you got to my bed you would start laughing because you were so excited to be with me and I couldn't resist turning you away and you would just wrap your little arms around me........so sweet!

You are such a sweet boy Grayden. You have such a soft heart and are so loving! There have been so many times where you just come up to me from out of no where and grab my face and turn it towards yours and give me a kiss on the lips. It's so cute how you just grab my face and turn it around to give me a kiss! The other day daddy was on the couch sleeping and you crawled up to him and gave him a little wet kiss on the lips. That made Daddys day for sure! Not only are you affectionate but you are so caring. You love to be centre of attention and you love to make people laugh.

WE love you so much Gray

Baby #2 Update

So I am 35 weeks and 3 days today! Wow has time flown by. I cannot believe how great I feel this far along. This pregnancy has been a lot different than the last. I thought I had a wonderful pregnancy with Grayden but this one has by far been even better for me. Theres not a whole lot new or exciting to update on with this pregnancy. I started seeing my OB a few weeks ago and it's in airdrie this time versus all the way down Glenmore so that has been nice. The first time I saw her she measured the baby and said that he was a little on the smaller side and that I was in the 25th percentile which was still normal range.

The next time i saw my OB it was a replacement because my doctor was on holidays. When she got to the measuring part she seemed a little concerned of the size. You are supposed to measure out the amount of weeks you are. I was measuring at a 32 when I am a 35. I was still in normal range but she wanted me to have an ultrasound just to make sure everything is okay in there.

So this made me extremely nervous and anxious to have this ultrasound done. I had to wait a few days and finally went in and everything checked out completely normal. I was laying there for at least 45 minutes while she did a thorough check of the baby and she told me that he is a bit on the small size but everything looks great! I WAS SOOO RELIEVED and happy to hear that.

Thats about all thats new with baby! He moves around still so much and NO CHARLIE HORSES......YET!! UGH.... that was the worst part of my entire pregnancy with Grayden was the charlie horses! I am so gratful I haven't had any yet but there have been a couple times where I have felt one about to come on and I can quickly stretch it out or whatever.

Anyway I cant wait to meet this little one. I am getting so excited!!

Sleep is SO good!

You DID it baby boy! We started putting you in your own room on the weekend and without nursing through the night. The first night was ROUGH! We started you out in your car bed but you would just keep running out and when we would come to tuck you back in you would run to your bed and giggle. It was more of a game to you and it felt like we were getting no where! After a couple hours of chasing each other back and forth, you started getting frustrated especially after we started saying nothing to you or giving you any more kisses goodnight. You finally fell asleep in your bed after about 3 hours. You woke up every 2 or 3 and I did end up nursing you once around 4 am but that was it.

The next night we decided to set up the play pen in your room. We figured that sleeping in your own room, and in a new bed and without nursing was to much of a change all at once. Your used to your playpen so we figured we'd try that instead. The second night was a lot easier! It was still rough because it wasn't a game anymore to you and you basicly sat there in your play pen and cried for a couple of hours. We went in and gave you a hug and a kiss every ten minutes but it was the hardest thing Ive had to do in a long long time. If Cody wasn't there to help me out I KNOW I would have given in and brought you into my room but it was what I expected from you and I prepared myself as much as I could but nothing is worse than seeing your baby crying and hurt when it was never his fault to begin with. It makes me tear up just thinking about what was going through your mind. I just had to keep telling myself that it will be so worth it in a few days!!

So that night was your first night of going the entire night without nursing. I always nurse you before bed but it was the first night you went all night without it. You didn't even ask for it. You woke up about 3 times in the night but we just went in and rubbed your back and you went right back to bed.

The third night I was a little panicked because i was going to be by myself but you got the hang of it right away. I nursed you and layed you down and you fell asleep. You didnt get up until 5am and then I rubbed your back and then you didnt get up again until your usual awake time. I was sooooo happy and relieved

Thanks baby boy for getting the hang of it so fast! Its so hard for mommy to hear to cry especially when it's not your fault to begin with :(
I love you
xoxoxo

Daddys Graduation

Daddy FINALLY graduated from his fire fighting course NOV 14th! We are so proud of him! He worked so hard and even though he didnt have alot of spare time to study and was away from home a lot he toughed it out and got it done! Your daddy is the hardest working man I know and I could not be more proud of him. He has always wanted to be a fire fighter and now he is officially considered a trained fire fighter! Hopefully after parental leave daddy can get on full time with rocky view or Calgary!

We are so proud of you honey.....your our hero!
