This month went by so fast just like I knew it would. I can't believe you are almost a year and a half!! This month was exciting! You met your Auntie Lynnie for the first time and we had so much family down to visit with.
So whats new with you?
You have definitely had a HUGE growth spurt this month. I don't know if its the fact that we cut your hair and started spiking it or if you just really grew. A bit of both I'm sure! Anyway the point is you are huge and I just cannot believe my baby boy is so big.
You have started saying a lot this month but even though you know how to say a lot of words you don't do it very often. I swear I heard you say I love you back to me a few weeks ago. It wasn't exactly "I LOVE YOU" but you were trying to mimic me and it sounded just the same. You say Papa, Airplane, Kiara, HI, bye or bye bye, Pooh, wow, birdie etc. I can't think of them all but you sure have improved in that department. Your signing is going pretty well too. You sign Bath, milk, more, and food perfectly but were still working on a few more.
You did such a cute thing yesterday:
We went for our nightly walk and daddy let go of Kiara's leash. She started walking off so you started yelling her name and chasing after her to stop. You bent over picked up her leash and decided to walk her the west of the way. It was sooo cute! That's the first time you did that or even walked Kiara for that matter :)
Your appetite has increased a lot this month. You used to never really want breakfast so you would have an early lunch and supper. For breakfast you always have fruit. Usually a couple handfuls of blackberries or blueberries and half a banana. Every once in a while you'll have eggs with some toast. I still haven't found a food you DON'T like. You seem to like and eat anything we give you. I let you have some grapefruit the other day thinking you wouldn't like the sourness but you kept asking for more! You FINALLY started using a fork/spoon this month.
You still nurse 4-5 times a day. Some people seem so suprised at that but its because that is the only milk you are getting. You are not on any cows milk or any animals milk for that matter. Just your mommies milk so that's mainly why you nurse so much.
You have such a sweet personality. Your feelings get hurt easily (especially when your tired) and your quick to comfort when you feels someone else is upset. You love to make people laugh especially mommy and daddy and know how to make anyone smile. You light up the room for everybody around you and just a joy to be around.
Papa and Nana came for a visit last week and boy do you have them wrapped around your little finger :) You LOVE your papa and Nana so much!! You have such an incredible bond with your Papa!! You love your Nana but there is somthing about men you are more drawn too. It seriously amazes me how comfortable you are around them and even though you don't see them often you warm up right away. Whenever you get into trouble or whenever you are sad you run straight to Papa. Whenever Papa's close by you would reach out for him no matter who was holding you. Daddy would be holding you and if Papa was close you HAD to be held by him and would rest your little head in his shoulders. What shocks me the most is that you sometimes preferred Papa OVER ME!!! You'd pass me to get to Papa or cry for him when you were in my arms!! THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVER!!! Hahaha only with your Papa. Like I said you have a special bond with him and it just melts my heart to see. I love watching you with them and to see how much they love you and care about you means the world to me.
Your sleeping schedule hasn't changed much but lately you have been missing your 2nd nap of the day. You wake up around 7:30/8am and then your down for your first nap around 11:30am for 2 hours. You usually have your second nap at 4:30 but if you haven't fallen asleep by 5 then you don't get one. Regardless if you take your second nap or not, your asleep by 8:30. If you miss your second nap you just get really cranky come 7Pm so I'll put you down a little earlier. You sleep in your own bed but around 2-3am You wake up and want to sleep with me.
That habbit HAS to break soon because when my belly's huge you will no longer fit in our bed and I can't have you kicking me all night. It's going to be a hard adjustment not only for you but for mel. I just wish we were stronger in the beginning and started putting you in your own crib for starters...... I felt at the time it was our only option for you to sleep and for us but boy did that come back to kick me in the butt......at the same time having you lay next to me the last 16 months have been some of my most special, fondest memories with you so It's something I don't really regret.
Well my baby boy I love you more than you could ever know! Happy 16 month Birthday!!!!!
