So what's new with Grayden?? Well he is certainly keeping me on my toes trying to remember and capture all the changes he goes through every day. He went through a big growth spurt at about 10 weeks old where I seriously woke up in the middle of the night and he just looked so filled out compared to what he looked like just a few hours earlier....It was the weirdest thing. I haven't noticed any big changes since. He weighed in at a whopping 13Lbs 9 oz on his 10 week check up, so I am guessing he weighs in at about 14Lbs by now. He was 24 1/2 inches long as well. So he's grown almost 4 inches and almost double his weight since birth. We also had to put our big boy in size 2 diapers at 9 weeks old. He will be in cruisers here in no time.
His sleeping schedule STILL hasn't changed....some nights he seems to wake up every 2 hours but for the most part usually EVERY three on the dot!! I thought sleeping was supposed to get better as they get older??? Anyway he's up for the day at around 10:30am which is much better than 8am so Im not complaining :) When he wakes up in the night for some food or needs a bum change he doesn't cry or make a sound really.....he just lies there and waves his arms like crazy ..LoL he is pretty strong and has woke me up a few times with a good smack to the face. He falls right back to sleep when he's done which is nice. For a while there it would take me about an hour to put him back to sleep.
Grayden is still napping a lot throughout the day. He has about 4 or 5 good naps for atleast 45 minutes or longer. I have been told to try not let him sleep as much during the day and he will sleep longer at night but my parents got a good taste at what he's like when he doesn't get his naps LoL....WE ALSO HAVE A MAJOR MOMMAS BOY on our hands.......He loves his mommy and seems to only settle with me and only me! It was so funny because I never noticed it as much before my parents were here.....When he was cranky and wanted to be rocked to sleep Papa or Nana would try ( a couple times he went down with Papa) but he just wouldn't settle so pretty much the second I took him and rocked him he was silent....It was pretty amazing how he can tell so soon his mommy had him and it sure makes me feel special :) Anyway Im sure that will change soon to where he won't have a problem settling with daddy or anyone else. As much as I love it sometimes I do need the break, and it will be nice to not have worry about leaving him with Grandma sometimes when Cody and I want to go somewhere.
Anyway his favorite time of day is still the mornings :) He seriously has a permanent smile on his face for about half an hour! Its the best!!! He still doesn't giggle??? He has a few times in the mornings when I really get him smiling but rarely. Hopefully the giggles come out soon. The last 2 weeks he has really started to use his legs and want to try and stand. He never cared to stand on them before but all of a sudden .....funny how that works. What else does Grayden love??? He LOVES to look in the mirror and stare at him self and loves it when you make funny faces! Oh yah at about 9 weeks he discovered his hands and I swear hasn't taking them out of his mouth since. LoL he loves sucking on them and on May 19th I caught him sucking on his thumb for the first time....Uh oh we may have a thumb sucker on our hands....Anyway......He is changing so much.....
Im very blessed to be able to spend this time with him like this. I love being a stay at home mom, Cody will be taking some Parental Leave here at the end of June for about 6 weeks. I can't wait to have all that time together. Well thats about all thats new with Grayden I have posted a couple photos of Graydens Three month Birthday....He is such a HANDSOME little boy.....
