Grayden's metal mouth :(

I have been so stressed about my sons teeth ever since we took him to his first dentist check up back in the new year. I was actually really excited to take him to the destist because we have been soooo good with his teeth since day one. The dentist told me he had 5 cavities!!! I was SHOCKED and soooo frustrated! She said he had little enamo that protected his teeth so we scheduled him to have them taken care of. He did sooo amazing the first time he had his cavity filled and it didnt even phase him. The second time however was a different story. He was FREAKING out the entire time! So that completely ruined his view on the dentist and would NOT open his mouth for anyone else. While we were in vancouver he had a TERRIBLE tooth ache!! BUT WOULD NOT OPEN HIS MOUTH for anyone. It went away and didnt come back. I was brushing his teeth about a month later at home and noticed a enormous pea size puss ball on his gums. Off to the dentist we went and we were referred to a pediactric dentist due to his experience with a family dentist. He was the same way, so they told us Grayden would need to be put under for the operation. He had to have his tooth removed and recieve 5 metal caps over his mollars because the previous dentist did a bad job filling his cavaties. AND he would have to wear a big spacer in his mouth to hold the empty space for his adult tooth. I was so overwhelmed and nervous about this, but I knew it had to be done. When they gave him the gas and as I wathced him slowly go to sleep it was so overwhelming and I immediately began to cry......It was a scary thing but I knew he would be just fine. So Grayden got an early visit from the tooth fairy at 4 years old! That was the only cool part about all of this.

Soccer 2012

We registered Grayden in soccer this year! Soo fun and it makes me feel like my little guy is soo big! He loves soccer and we love sitting in the bleachers watching him. He loves to run around mostly but he's a little hesitant to get in there amongst 8 other boys to fight for the ball. His first day he scored his first goal! Its so fun and I can totally see how some parents get so competative! I would never be one of those moms shouting or getting angry for our team loosing but Im totally one of those moms to cheer them on winning or not!

Halloween 2012

Daxtin was miserable at the start of halloween. I had to wake him from a late nap and he didn't even want to get his costumes on. Daxtin was Iron man and Grayden was Wolverine.Halloween was really fun again this year. We ditched the idea of EVER doing the malls again, and went straigt to sharphill where the good candy is. It was the same as last year! OVERSIZED chocolate bars and over sized candy bags. Once we got going and Daxtin realized every time he went to a door they gave him candy, he really got into this and had a lot of fun! There was snow on the ground and it was pretty cold, but the boys kept givin er because it was so fun! I love how our boys (especially Gray) really understand what are bad foods are and what are good. He understands how the bad foods can really hurt our bodies and I always want to push that on my kids and make them understand that, so throughout there lives they can make better choices in the foods they eat meanwhile understanding why its not good for them. We made a deal with Grayden that he could choose TEN of his favourite candy to keep and that he could give the rest to someone who didn't get any candy. He was totally fine about it and so were we. He actually forgot about all his candy and its still sitting above the cupboards. Halloween pics 2012

Dentist Checkup!

Grayden had his first Dentist appointment yesterday! he did so awesome!! We found out he had FIVE cavities!! I was so shocked because we've always brushed his teeth so good! We always brushed but his teeth were so spaced apart we never thought to floss but all his cavities were inbetween his teeth :( I was so bummed and felt like a terrible parent lol

2 1/2 years!

Daxtin is half way to be being THREE today! I have SO been looking farward to this post because you have changed SO MUCH in the last 6 months! Where do I even begin! I cant believe how much you can talk! You can say full sentences and you comletely understand what we want from you. You are such a sweet little spirit (always have been) and you just draw everyone too you! You are a big time momma's boy (what else is new) You want mommy to do everything for you and you have such a hard time when mommy leaves you to go anywhere! I have found that sneaking out when you weren't looking was NOT the best way to go about leaving you. I have realized lately that if I explain to you that mommy is just leaving to do some stuff and that I will be right back-my departure isn't as traumatic as when you find Out I've magically disappeared. Your sad and keep asking me if you can come but then I just tell you to wave at me through the window and you seem to do ok. love when I find things that work in parenting! You are such a picky eater!! You don't really eat anything now that I think about it. *The only vegetables you eat are carrots, sugar snap peas, and sometimes broccoli and cucumber! You love hummus dip. Anything that has toppings you call yucky! *You aren't picky with your fruits (of course) pretty sure you eat any fruit I give you. *Your favorite supper is probably spaghetti *favorite breakfast is pancakes *favorite lunch is grilled cheese and ketchup (i think you'll eat anything with ketchup) *your favorite thing to do is be outside! Everyday of my life "OUTSIDE,OUTSIDE,OUTSIDE" *you love to your ride your bike and anything that has wheels for that matter *your still in love with trains but play mostly avengers with your brother all day and bat man or should I say "dark night backman as daxtin calls it" You go to sleep in your crib but usually wake up and end up in my bed. I must admit you are the BEST alarm clock ever! . COME, MOMMY COOOMMMMEEE, MOMMY COOOMMMEEE right in my face! Its just music to my ears!! Or u start pulling at my arm when your standing beside me in bed and saying as you pull, "wake up mommy, or I dont want to seep anymoe, or go downstairs to play" UGGHHH!!! You say the cutest things!

Grays 4 1/2

Grayden is almos FIVE! That age just seems so old to me! Gray starts another year of pre-school this year and when I was shopping for him I had to leave the toddler area at joes to the "big boy" section!! boy that was a moment! You are getting so big! your 43" tall and 40lbs! Whats new with Grayden in the last 6 months... We are in the "testing mommy and daddy" phase! Gray is in a really defiant stage right now where he is testing us big time and we are having to crack down more than ever. He is very hard at listening these days and testing every patience we have! He can be very difficult at times with his LOUD, OBNOXIOUS behaviour but he can be as sweet as ever the next! He is such a loving tender boy and very caring....lets just say he's a typical 4 year old boy! Im so excited for him to start pree-school again this year as well as another year of speech therapy! He is going to learn and grow so much! *Gray is not a picky eater and pretty much will eat anything as long as he's in the "mood" for it *loves to be out side just like his younger brother *loves to play avengers, batman, ghost busters, and spiderman *you have also gotten into mario and nintendo with your dad these last few couple of months *You are so excited for christmas this year and have circled pretty much everything in the christmas wish catalogue. I noticed a pic of jesus circled and it was the only thing circled on the page. I asked you what this was and you said, "its a picture of Jesus for my room" :) melted my heart. This age of yours have been really fun for Cody! You used to be SUCH a mommas boy but you are starting to let that go and really do some fun things with your dad! You adore your Dad :-)

No more diapers! !

With a snap of a finger Daxtin finally gets it! He refuses to go to the bathroom in his diaper :-) Best day of my life! He is officially fully potty trained! Its been almost 5 years of buying and changing crappy diapers, and now we are FREEEEee!! It feels awesome! So proud of you baby Dax :-) Daxtin in his BIG BOY underwear :)

First time on antibiotics

It was Grays first time EVER on antibiotics i am proud to say! One of his teeth develped a really bad infection to where his gums beside the tooth had swollen up to the size of a pea! It all started a few weeks back in Vancouver. He started to have a very painful tooth ache for hours and he would just scream and cry. Eventually after some Tylenol and ionic silver the pain subsided. Apparently that tooth eventually died which is why it got so infected which is where the antibiotics kicked in. I was hoping to kill the infection with ionic silver and stay away from any antibiotics but the infection needed to be gone fast because hehad a dentist appointment coming up where he needed to be frozen.

5 years

Today is our 5 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!! That's right, half a DECADE! I feel so blessed to be married to Cody! He is the best partner a girl could ever ask for. I love that guy more than I could ever put into words! He is just simply an amazing Husband, Father and Person!
Thank you honey for being so supportive of me and everything I do. Thank you for being so understanding of my faults and weaknesses and for always making me feel comfortable. That means more to me than you could ever know!

I love you so much!
Happy Anniversary :)
Love for ever and ever

Disneyland 2011

I can't believe Dineyland has already come and gone! We had so much fun and were full of memories that will last a life time!
The flight was pretty good! The kids didn't sleep a wink (which we were hoping for) but considering they did pretty good! When we arrived we took a taki/van to our hotel (The best western) We got settled in, ordered some pizza, and by that time Nana and Papa arrived! WE couldn't wait for morning :)

The kids were so excited as we waited at the gates to get in. Gray has been talking about Mickey Mouse and how excited he was to see him. Well the first thing we saw as we walked into the park was MICKEY MOUSE! Well we were excited, Gray not so much! When it was our turn to get Mickey's autograph and a picture Gray wasn't having it! Dax was very curios but, settle! Here is the evidence LoL

Gray started out terrified by all the characters but eventually warmed up to them a little. So the first day was amazing. Gray LOVED ALL THE RIDES and was such a big boy on all the big rides!! Dax was so fascinated by everything! He didn't say much just glared around on all the rides! WE spent the first day in Disneyland. We also caught the world of colors show that night which was soooo amazing!

The next day we finished a few rides at Disney and then headed off to California adventure for a while! That was so much fun! I couldn't beleive all the rides Gray wanted to go on that I was even scared of. (especially the high ones)

The next daywetookabreakfromtheparksandjustrelaxedourfeetaroundthehotel.weplayedinthepool(hottubishouldsay,itwastoocoldforthepool)laterthateveningwetookacabandwenttoapirate/dinnershow.ItwassomethingfuntodobutIdefinitelywouldnotpaytoseeitagain.maybewhenthekidsarealittleoldler.

Thenextdayback

We spent the next day just lounging around the hotel and the pool. later that night we had plans to go see a live pirate show (Gray has been really into pirates lately) It was somewhat of a boring day but a much needed rest for our feet. Later that night we took a Taxi to the dinner theatre. The boys had fun in the lobby play fighitng with there swords. The show was a bit disappointing! The food was okay, but the show was definitely more geared towards older kids. The boys were bored pretty fast. The following day we spent in Disneyland going on all the rides we loved and wanted to do again! We met many more characters and filled our autograph book! WE had an appointment to go to Goofys Kitchen for lunch! It was so worth every penny! The kids loved it and the food was awesome! I think Dax fell in love with pluto :) Disneyland was so much fun and even more to see the boys have such a good time! I loved having both sets of grandparents there to help us out! I can't wait to go again when the boys are older :) a

To Grandmas house we go...

Sea otter

Grayden started swimming lessons again this fall. this time he was all on his own as a sea otter. IN OTHER WORDS NO PARENTS ALLOWED!! The first day Cody showed up swimming shorts on and all.....boy did he feel stupid as the rest of the parents were sitting fully dressed on the benches to watch. Didn't get the memo I guess! LoL I think Gray was the youngest in that class but he sure loves his swimming lessons!

Number 2

Dax pooped on the potty for the first time last night and I was so flippin excited! He just came up to me and said "mommy pee coming" so I rushed him to the potty and he went poop! We all jumped for joy and gave high fives.....it was a big moment! The photos speak for themselves :)

Bye-Bye Suu

So this last weekend we went up to see my Grandparents! It was also Canada day that weekend so on the saturday they had a bunch of festivities going on. The kids had so much fun and LOVED the fire works later on :) As soon as we arrived I sorta panicked as I realized we had forgotten Daxtins sue. We've been wanting to take it away for a while now but....well you know! I decieded to just leave it and figured it may be a good time to just get rid of the darn thing once and for all. Well to my suprise Dax didn't ask for it once! And its been 4 days and its like he forgot it ever existed! CRAZY! ...completely cold turkey! So Bye Sue!!!!! we are finally done spending hours searching for you time and time again all over this house!!

Tunnel Mountain

First camping trip of the year! The Boys were so excited to go to the mountains with Grandma and grandpa for there first camping trip of the year! The boys are all about "BIG FOOT" right now and that was the theme of the weekend "FINDING BIG FOOT" We saw plenty of elk on our hike but.....no big foot ;) Gray was so disappointed! The weather was kinda crappy as it rained pretty much the ENTIRE time we were there. Grandma and I spent a lot of the time in the trailer but nothing was stopping the boys from doing what they love best "being outside" The boys had so much fun on this trip and something we'll have to do again soon :)
