Daxtin is TWO months old!

I just finished reading Grayden's second month update and guess what....its pretty much the same as what I was going to write for Daxtins :) You are a lot like your brother was at this age.
You eat every 2-3 hours and you sleep really well. You definitely know your days and nights now. It's funny how you sleep so different from your naps compared to your "bedtime" sleep. During your naps you figit alot but when you fall asleep to go to "BED" you are completely OOUUTT! You even look different so I always know when you are ready for BED. You are a pretty good sleeper! We usually go to bed around 11 and you don't wake up until 5:30-6am so you give mommy a good 5 hour stretch of straight sleep. The odd time you get up twice but for the most part just once.

I was looking at Gray's 2nd month pictures and you looked so much alike but definitely have your differences!

We are on your first visit away from home right now. We decided to go to Drayton Valley this weekend. At this age your brother hated being away from home and knew when we weren't at home. You don't seem to care where you are!

You are now enjoying your baths like your brother did!
Your are getting so big Dax I can't even believe it! I can't wait to learn more about you and to watch your grow this year!

Sleepy Boy!

So this is Grayden yesterday at the dinner table. He missed his afternoon nap and he was obviously exhausted!
We had a lazy supper and made Gray's favorite FRENCH TOAST with home made blueberry sauce :)

Happy 2nd Birthday Grayden !!!

Grayden.......I can't believe we are celebrating your SECOND birthday! Time is flying by so fast and it scares me!

We celebrated your birthday on February 20th and it was of course.....all about DINOSAURS! We had so much fun!! the highlight of the party was the dinosaur piniata !! You had a blast hitting that thing and found it hilarious! I almost didn't buy that thinking you were to young for that but boy would I have been wrong! We opened your prezies after that and you of course were spoiled with gifts and dinosaurs GALORE! We had cake and then watched your second year slide show :)

So what is new now that Grayden is TWO !

We are slowly in the process of trying to potty train you. We have sort of put it on hold for a few weeks just until I feel we are on a steady routine with Daxtin. You actually peed on the potty for the first time on ................ I was so thrilled! ...Well I caught you going in the bath but I could tell you didn't want to pee in there because you were trying to hold it so I put you on the potty quick and you PEED!

You also cut your two 2nd mollers on top! I had no idea but now I realize why we were having a hard time with you at night time a few weeks ago.

You are officially FINALLY sleeping completely through the night!!! THIS IS A BIG ONE! We start getting you ready for bed at 8pm and you are in bed by 830pm. We brush your teeth, read you a story, sing a song, kiss you and tell you we love you, and you turn around and you put yourself to bed! You usually wake up at 6am on the dot and we go in and give you a kiss and you go back to bed until about 8am. So proud of you!!!

You have started to say a few more words.....Gone, All gone, go,go go, All done. Any time you want someone to follow you or to come where you want them you grab our finger and say " Go Go Go"
Your getting there.....slowly but surely!

We have started putting you on TIME OUTS and its no fun! You can be such a stinker sometimes and love to do things you know your not supposed to do. You love to hit the big TV and always look at one of us to see if were watching before you do so. You love to STEAL DAXTINS SOOTHER and watch to see if anyone is watching you. You love to throw your food on the ground...etc..etc. LoL Daddy is definitely the disciplinarian in our house. I discipline when I need to but I have a harder time giving in than daddy does...LoL

I CANT BELIEVE MY BABY BOY IS TWO!!

Two years ago today you completely changed my life. Everyone knows that mommy has a terrible memory but I remember EVERYTHING about that day! I remember how excited I was that we were finally going to meet you some time that day yet completely nervous and scared that somthing would go wrong or that anything would happen to you. I remember the feeling that came over me when I saw you and held you for the first time and how my heart became yours instantly. I remember the first time you opened your eyes and how proud I was to be your mom. It was an emotioned filled day much like today as I gaze at the clock remembering what was happening at that exact moment two years ago.

You have no idea how grateful I am for you and how blessed I feel to be your mommy! You have me wrapped around your little finger and I could not imagine my life without you. You bring us so much joy and love that I can't begin to describe. I love you more than life itself and there isn't a thing you could possibly ever do that could change that.

Royal Tyrell Museum !

We took you to Drumheller for part of your birthday celebration and we went to the "Dinosaur" Museum! Nana and Papa came along with Grandma and Grandpa Beecher! It was the first time just you got to hang with both your grandparents! You absolutely loved it as I imagined you would. I can't believe how much you LOVE your dinosaurs! The museum isn't as big as I remembered and there is alot of reading and info around so we got through that place in no time. Obviously you werent interested in the videos or the reading you just wanted to look around dinosaur after dinosaur.....so it didn't take very long! We could have spent the entire day out in Drumheller and I just wish we had more time! Nana and Papa had to get home for Auntie Sasha so we just drove through town but we plan to take you there in the summer when its warmer and take the camper for the weekend! They have dinos everywhere and almost every store theme is dinosaurs so Im looking forward to it.

Dax is one month old!!

It's your first one month birthday Dax! I always wondered what it would be like to have two children and how you could love another child just as much.....exactly the same as your first. But its definitely true Daxtin. I love you and your brother more than anything! You have been such a blessing and a perfect addition to our family. I already can't imagine our lives without you!

You are such a precious little boy and light up my day no matter how tired I may be :)

So what has the month been like with Daxtin....

The first week you slept almost through the night. We went to bed around 1130pm/midnight and you wouldn't wake up until around 530am somtimes 6am. Then you got a nast bum rash and it was atleast every 2/3.
Right now you are back to sleeping a good 5 hours straight which is sooo nice!!

You are already A BIG mommas boy just like your big brother! You know when mommy has you and DEFINITELY when mommy don't ..LoL ! You love to be held and hate it when we sit down with you ( most of the time ) You love it when mommy puts on your sling and walks around with you. You fall asleep instantly!

The first couple of weeks you HATED your baths and even bum changes. Anything that had to do with taking any article of clothing of you hated! But now you don't mind your baths and you LOVE to be changed. We try to air you out after a bum change for at least a few minutes and you love to sit there and kick your legs about. Sometimes when you get fussy with daddy he'll just lay you down and change your bum to calm you down even if you don't need one :)

You have grown so much this month You've got the chubby cheeks going and the rolls are comin out already too :)

Well Daxtin I feel so blessed to be your mommy and thank heavenly father everyday for sending you to our family. You are mommys world and I can't imagine my life without you!

Happy Valentines day

Happy First Valentines Day Daxtin!

For Valentines Day this year we spent the day at home (Like everyday these days) and watched the BEE MOVIE with Grayden! I love movie nights with my family! Grayden is in love with animated movies like that. He's not into the old school "101 dalmations" or "jungle book" movies. The only old school movie he will actually sit through is little mermaid...LoL Anyway it was a perfect way to celebrate Valentines with my Boys!

Daxtin is ONE week old today :)

The first week has come and gone much like I expected :) I am trying so hard to soak up this precious time with you. This "baby" stage is so precious and comes and goes way to fast. Having gone through two years with Grayden I have realized this stage you are in has got to be my favorite. You are so delicate and helpless and need mommy and daddy's help for every thing. I LOVE THAT :)

You are seriously a perfect baby in every way! You hardly ever cry unless you are having your diaper changed, getting dressed, or having a bath. You hate being cold !! Grayden LOVED his baths right from the Getgo .......and then theres you :) You HATE them :) So other than that you sleep all day and love to be held. You do have a bit of a fussy time right before dinner around 3pm where all you want to do is nurse for HOURS. You pretty much sleep through the night which is AWESOME! We usually don't get to bed until 11:30 PM and you don't wake up at all until 6 or 7 am and then we do a feed and bum change and were back to bed until 10 or 11am ! I am one lucky mommy :) Grayden STILL doesn't sleep through the night.

It hasn't been all that hard adjusting to a new baby in the house. Were just slowly learning about you and getting to know your likes and dislikes and what sort of schedule you like to be on. The hardest thing so far is getting Grayden used to the fact that he isn't the only one that gets mommys and daddys FULL attention anymore. He is having a hard time with that especially when he sees me nursing you. He comes up to me and pulls my shirt or my finger to get me to come with him. Sometimes when I pick you up he falls to the floor and starts crying. I also caught Gray sucking his thumb for the first time. He also started doing little things to "fake" hurting himself like hit his head a bit against the wall or slapping somthing and pretending his hand hurt. He makes sure you see him hurt himself and then comes over to you and goes "AWWWW" and needs it kissed better.:( So that is the hardest part right now for me. Feels like a stab in the heart everytime (sniff, sniff) So I try to make an effort a few times a day where I take Gray downstairs alone and play with him or read him a book ......what ever I can in my condition right now :)

Grayden LOVES to give you kisses and pet your little head :) Its so sweet because he will be playing or doing whatever and all of a sudden he will come up to you and kiss you on your lips and walk away and repeat that over and over. He is such a sweet big brother and although he gets jealous at times......he LOVES you :)

You had your first Doctors visit January 26th at 6 days old. You looked perfectly healthy! You weighed 8 Lbs 13.5 ounces and 20"long. We are so blessed to have 2 healthy boys :)

First bath at home

23 months old!!

Well Grayden you are officially a big brother now!!! WE brought your baby brother home on your 23rd month birthday! You met him for the first time on January 20 the evening he was born. Papa, Auntie Lynnie, and Aunt Debbie brought you to the hospital to see me and your baby brother. It was the first night I have ever spent away from you and I missed you like Crazy. I was a little worried about how you would be but you love your Papa and Auntie Lynnie so much that you had no problem. It was a little tough to get you to bed because all you want to do is play with Aunt Lynnie and she doesn't help either because she just wants to play....so Papa had to be the bad guy that night :)

You are such a sweet big brother already. When you first saw him you were petting his head so gently and resting your head on him and giving him kisses..... you warmed up to him right away and it was soooo adorable to see. You are going to be such a good big Bro!! When Dax was born and you came to see me in the hospital I felt like crying when I gave you a hug....It just made me realize how much you really have grown and are no longer that baby boy...You looked and felt so BIG!! .you have grown up so much!

So whats new with Gray this month?

Well Talking STILL hasen't been much of an improvement yet....... As a mom it sorta makes me worried or makes me feel like we've done something wrong but you are seriously SO SMART and I just have to remember that every child develops at there own rate....there own pace and I know one day here soon you'll just be talking your face off :) You have started to say a few more words but AGAIN you just decide not to use them........I think you've started a language of your own actually.....you'll go off on these little rants of babble talk every now and again and It makes us laugh so hard......the other day we were telling you its time for bed and you looked at us and then looked side to side and just started talking jibberish or somthing with SUCH attitude. Mommy and Daddy laughed so hard...LoL

You are STILL nursing before bed and when you wake up! I said I wanted to make it to two and looks like we will accomplish that goal FOR SURE! To be honest...I don't know how Im going to get you off!!! Especially now that Dax is here you are constantly coming up to me asking me for milk. When you see me nursing Dax you get really upset and try to grab me away so you can nurse. You are getting to big to still nurse so next month I think we'll be trying to wean you.

You LOVE to eat my dear! You are such a big eater!!!! You still love your veggies. the other night we had lasagna and you were picking out the spinach and eating just spinach....ODD but it makes me so happy you are such a healthy eater! Your favorite snacks are FIGGS, PRETZELS AND POPCORN. Your Favorite breakfast is french toast with home made blueberry sauce. And your favorite supper is hay stacks (RICE).

You have an OBSESSION with Dinosaurs and CHOO CHOO TRAINS. We have a train by our house that you can vividly hear and whenever it comes by you FREAK out and we run you to the door and take you out to watch it go by or the nearest window....You start screaming and grab who ever you can to take you out to see!! Its so much fun! Other fun things you like to do is twirl around the living room and make your self dizzy and laugh hysterically when you fall :) You love it when we play with you :) YOU LOVE TO LAUGH and make others laugh :) You love to be centre of attention!

You are a true definition of the word BOY! You love to wrestle and get rough with your dad. You love to play dinosaurs (especially in the bath) and slam them together like they are fighting. You love to play hide and go seek or the "chase" game. You are just so much fun right now!

Daddy is officially on parental leave!!! YAYYYYYY! We have him home with us for the next 9 months!! We are so blessed to have that here in Canada! It's going to be so nice to have him around! Daddy has been so helpful around here!! He lets mommy sleep and nap whenever she needs to. He's constantly picking up after you and cleaning the entire house! He has been so good to mommy!

Well Grayden this is probably the last "MONTHLY" post that I will do. After you are two I will probably update every 2-3 months! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE TURNING TWO NEXT MONTH!!! Gahhhh that is just crazy baby boy! I love you more than words could possibly express! You are my joy, my life, my everything!!
