BIG BROTHER :)

Yup, that's right Grayden will be a big brother early next year (I think) I DID NOT think I could get pregnant since Gray is still nursing so much and because It's been two years since my last MS. Anyway you CAN DEFINITELY NURSE AND STILL GET PREGNANT!............. 6% chance my Butt!

So heres the story, Last thursday night (May 21) I was laying in bed and my heart was racing like I had just ran a marathon which I thought was really odd. The next morning I felt sick to my stomach so I called my sister and told her I seriously think I may be pregnant so I went to walmart and got a pregnancy test and there was a big fat positive. It was funny bacause about 2 weeks ago I waited longer than usual for breakfast and got really hungry and I felt like I was going to throw up. It was the same feeling I hadn't experienced since I was pregnant with Grayden so I told Cody and we joked about how crazy it would be if I was pregnant :)

Anyway I went to the doctor the following monday (May 25) to confirm the results and they assured me I was pregnant so I asked for an ultrasound so I could find out how far along I am since I had no way of knowing. I had an ultrasound the following thursday ( May 28 ) Cody was unable to come with me but I saw our little peanut for the first time and his/her heart beating at 129 BPM. She said I was about 6 weeks and 5 days but never gave me a due date and I forgot to ask. I'm not sure how they figure all that out but I am guessing around January/February 2010. I have a doctors appointment monday so I'll find out then.

..I thought our kids would be at least three years apart but its so funny how everything just works out. Things have been crazy around here especially with Cody's work. He has just about had it there and completely un happy. The only reason he is sticking around is for the 9 months Parental leave that he will take. He wouldn't take that much time off with any other company so its just so amazing how everything has worked out. Cody only has 7 months left and he is FINALLY DONE.

WE ARE DUE JANUARY 16TH!! AND WE COULDN'T BE HAPPIER !

15 Months Old!

This month has actually gone by pretty slow! You get to FINALLY meet your Auntie Lynnie in a couple weeks and that day just can't come any sooner. Thinking about her meeting you has been on my mind constantly which Is probably why this month has been such a dragger. Nana and Papa are coming down in less than 2 weeks so there are a lot of exciting things around the corner.

So what's new with Grayden this month:

You LOVE being outside. It is probably your favorite thing right now. Sometimes we'll catch you standing there trying to turn the door knobs to let yourself out. Whenever we open the front/back door you stop whatever your doing and run as fast as you can. Sometimes when we close the door on you because you don't have your shoes on you throw a complete FIT. You start screaming and fall to the floor...little stinker, You love your walks and getting rides in your wagon. You love looking for birds and of course pointing at them. You are fascinated with airplanes right now. When ever you hear one you point your little finger towards the sky and yell "dooo" until you find it.

You love to go to the park and walk around and watch all the big kids play. Usually you run right for the swing and stand below and point until mommy or daddy put you in. You LOVE THE SWING!!
This month you started walking up and down curbs all by yourself. That sounds so funny that I am blogging about that after repeating it in my head, but I was so excited and felt like such a proud mommy when you did it :) I'm such a suck..haha

You are incredibly busy right now! Church is almost impossible to sit through or even listen to a single talk you just want to GO GO GO ! Oh and you have finally figured out how to open EVERY SINGLE DRAWER/CLOSET in the house! That's been fun this month :)

All the yummy fruit is finally in season so you tried water mellon and rasberries for the first time this month! You just love it! Im so glad you aren't a picky eater! You SURE love your fruits and veggies!

Waving and saying hi to strangers is a new one this month :) When we go for our nightly walks you wave and say hi to almost everyone that walks by.

You love staring out the window! Every time daddy leaves for work you run to the window after kisses and watch him drive away while you wave your hands like crazy and yell "BYYYEEE"
Daddy HAS to come to the window and say bye again to you before he goes or you get very upset. He forgot one time and you started hollering and banging the window. You love those moments and giggle every time. Its cute!

You started saying "Pooh" (as in winnie the pooh) this month and you try to say a bunch of other words like tigger and airplane but your not quite close so I'm not going to bother counting those.

This month has been so much fun now that we can enjoy each other outside. You are just such a hoot right now. In about 2 more weeks you FINALLY get to meet your amazing Auntie Lynnie I have been telling you so much about :) SHE IS DYEING TO MEET YOU AND HOLD YOU and I cannot wait for that moment! This is going to be such an exciting month!

Hight Chair Pass-out :)

You passed out for the first time in your high chair (May 6, 2009) at 14 months old :)
You missed your second nap that day and I think daddy wore you out from playing so hard :) He sat you in your high chair and gave you some broccoli and spagetti while he did the dishes from supper and the next thing he knew you were fast asleep in your high chair :) I came home from Walmart, took a bunch of pictures and then decided it was a perfect opportunity to try and give you your second haircut.

14 months!!

14 months old and what a big "personality" you have developed!! This month we haven't had too many changes except for the fact that you have grown so much. The other day after one of your BIG naps Daddy and I were watching you play and we looked at each other and said we couldn't believe how big you looked. We swore you must have grown in that nap you just had!

What's new this month with Grayden:

Well you are finally starting to pick up some sign language. You love to sign "more" and no exactly what you are signing for. You are getting used to the "milk" and "bath signs for now. You have sorta made up your own sign for "milk" since you were about 5 months old. You rub your fingers across your nose and lips over and over until you get some.
I don't think you have said any new words which is a little surprising but you have become REALLY good at the ones you already know. "Uh Oh" is a word you use constantly. You purposely drop food or throw things so that you can say it. You like to pick up the phone and walk around with it by your ear and yell HHHIIIIIII at the top of your lungs!!!

We had another friend join our day home this month and I just love watching you try to interact with the older kids. The boys are two, Makayla is almost four but you try so hard to fit in and its just really cute to watch you jump out of your character a bit. They are so good with you even though you like to grab or demolish whatever they are doing. (stinker)

Well this month we finally got you into an earlier sleeping routine. You fall asleep around 8:30/9:00PM and wake up at 7AM with mommy. This has been so nice for me to have those extra hours to my self at night and get up with you in the morning. You go to sleep in your crib but wake up around 5:30 6 to nurse so I come get you and put you in our bed for an hour and then you pretty much wake up only a few minutes before my alarm clock.
Before when you didn't go to be until 10/11PM I would have to leave you in our bed in the mornings with the video monitor and a bunch of pillows around the bed. That made me so paranoid and you never got a good sleep without me there. So I am SUPER happy about this new routine!!

You have started to eat a lot more solids this month but still the same amount of mommy's milk. Your not a big breakfast fan though. You just want my milk and that's about it for the mornings. You love grapes and toast with coconut butter for snack and a veggie wrap for lunch, and Salmon/rice/broccoli for supper. Salmon was a new thing this month but we don't give you much. I didn't think you'd like it but you LOVED it.
Grayden had french fries for the first time this month (well Sweet potato fries..haha) I cute them in to skinny pieces and sprinkled a bit of olive oil and cinnamon on top and they were delicious! Gray loved them.

You FINALLY figured out the sippy cup earlier this month!! You couldn't figure out for the longest time how to get the water out. Now you are obsessed with sippy cups!!

Whining and an attitude have really developed this month...haha! Whenever you don't get your way or if I take something away from you, you throw your arms down to your side or turn around and hit what ever is behind you. You have actually hit mommy or daddy a few times. Last week you hit daddy for the first time and he grabbed your hand and looked at your firmly and said "NO" with an angry tone and you looked back and started to bawl! :( MAN this discipline thing is hard.

You love to dance and watch your favorite show "Tigger and Pooh", We are not ones for TV especially for Grayden but we can't help but turn it on a couple times a day just to see how happy and excited you get EVERY TIME.

Your favorite place to play and be is outside right now. Whenever we open the door you run, or whenever we open the shoe closet you reach in and grab your shoes. You just love it outside and it's too bad this stinkin weather would cooperate so we could enjoy it more! You love to just walk around all by yourself and explore. You get so excited when you see birdies and planes! You point and and look at mom and dad as if your making sure we see are staring too. You love going for walks in your wagon and swinging in the swing at the park. Sometimes when your cranky we'll just take you outside and you become the happiest little boy immediately.

You discovered the windows this month! You are a little taller now so you LOVE to look out the window and wave your hand Hi to everyone you see walking by. Whenever mommy or daddy leaves the house you run to the window to watch us getting in the car and wave/scream BYEEEE!!! It's too cute!

You also discovered light switches. You can't reach them but you point to them all the time. You love it when mommy or daddy pick you up so you can switch them ON and OFF, over and over. You get so excited and clap your hands every time you switch it.

Auntie Lynnie is coming home in less than 2 months! I CANNOT wait for her to meet you and experience the joy of having you in her life!! It chokes me up every time I think of her holding you for the first time at the airport and wrapping her arms around you.....(tear) I seriously CANT wait. She loves you so much and expresses that in every letter she writes! She can't wait to meet her little nephew!!

First Haircut....

Okay this happened over a month ago. I was shocked when realize I forgot to blog about this. Since I started my dayhome I have been a real slacker. Anyways Grayden had his FIRST HAIRCUT on February 20, 2009 at almost a year old. We went to walmart and I can tell you right now I will never go there again. She must have just came back from a SMOKE BREAK and JUST REACKED OF IT. I was soooo upset and I would have asked for a different hairdresser if she wasn't the only one there. Anyway Grayden sat on my lap and cried the entire time!! It was horrible and I felt so bad for the little guy, but it NEEDED TO BE DONE!! Hopefully we will have a better experience next time.

13 Months old !!

I know I have said this before and I know I will say it again, but this is the FUNNEST stage with Grayden so far. He is my little toddler now. Thats so wierd for me to repeat but I have to face the facts..... he is no longer my little baby who fit so nice snuggled in my arms. You still love to rock, but you are just so big now which makes rocking you a bit difficult the way your used to.

Whats new with Gray Gray this month?

Every month you seem to find new things around the house to play with or a new favorite room to play in. I believe last month was the pantry and the toilet paper roll....This month you love to play in closets and your new favorite toys are the broom and mop. You LOVE to pretend your sweeping or mopping the floor like mommy. It's very cute to watch you stretch as much as you possibly can in the corner of the fridge to reach them. You still try at every chance you can to get into the toilet but mommy and daddy have become pretty good at making sure that doesn't happen!!! (Little stinker) Oh yah you discovered all the drawers in the house :) (thats a fun one)

I don't think I've seen you crawl at all this month!! You walk everywhere and even try to walk the stairs. (Your legs aren't long enough yet honey) :) You are now running all over the place! We had a couple days where the snow finally melted and the weather was warm enough to go outside, so we put on your rubber boots and took you for you first ACTUAL walk to the park. You loved stomping your feet in the puddles and walking in the snow that was left. It would be so nice to live somwhere warm to take you out all the time because you LOVE being outside so much. SUMMER is FINALLY around the corner and we cannot wait. We are going to have so much fun with you at the lake and We can't wait to do our nightly walks again.

I don't think you have said any new words this month except "Uh Oh" You love to jibber jabber at us and while you read your books. You have loved your books since day one and your new favoite is your "tigger and pooh" book (of course) You absolutely LOVE tigger. You love to take your tigger everywhere. You haven't really gotten attatched to anything like that though. No specific blankey's, no stuffies....pretty much just your soothie and mommy of course. I have heard about little ones who get attached to little things like that and have a whole entourage they NEED to take everywhere, But we have never had that with you (thank goodness)

Food hasn't changed this month. Still LOVE your greens and fruit although I have noticed this month how much you really LOVE your grapes!! Oh yah...you tried eggs for the first time this month and you loved them. Mommy also made you some whole wheat blueberry pancakes from scratch that you LOVED as well. Your still nurseing just as much so not much has changed in the food department.


When you do somthing sweet or funny we'll shout "YAAAYYY" and you throw your arms straight up in the air with a big smile on your face. That's new this month and makes us chuckle every time. Whenever you hear the "think, think, think" song from your favorite show "My friends Tigger and Pooh" you tap the side of your head with your finger just like they do. And you have started to dance (finally) You bend your knees and bounce up and down. You are so cute and so smart.

Well my little toddler, I know I tell you all the time but I could never tell you enough..... love you more than anything in the whole wide world!!

This post is a little late I know......We took Grayden to the Airdrie pool for the first time The day after his birthday with Nana and Papa. HE LOVED IT.......I don't know why we've never taken him there before but anyway we finally did and it was a blast. He looked like such a BIG boy walking around in the kiddie pool all by himself!!

Happy FIRST birthday Grayden !!!

Well it was a BIG DAY today as Grayden turned ONE years old!! I spent all morning and throughout the day reminiscing what it was like and where I was exactly one year ago today. I kept looking at the clock and thinking to my self....I was driving to the hospital this time, pushing at this time or holding him for the very first time. It was an emotion filled day to say the least. I felt like the proudest mommy in the world today.

We had your party at 1pm over at Grandma and Grandpa Beechers. We had your 1 year pictures just before and then picked up some last minute things like all your balloons and headed to the party. It was so much fun and a lot of your family and friends came out to celebrate. First we played a milestone game where everyone had to guess which month you achieved a certain milestone like...when you cut your first tooth, or sat up for the first time etc. We also played guess how many cheerios are in the jar. After games and visiting we watched your very first slide show that mommy has been working on for a while now. It was such a beautiful moment for me to watch you grow before my eyes in that 10 minute slide show and just another reminder on how fast this year has really gone by. You have grown so much little guy!

So whats new with Grayden this month?
Its true what they say..."Its fun to be one" Gray is so much fun right now, everyday he finds new ways to make us laugh. He occasionally likes to play by himself but even more so with mommy or daddy. If he sees us playing on the computer or watching TV he comes and finds us and whines at us to play. He loves to play with us! His favorite is to wrestle and play rough. HE IS A TRUE BOY !!

This month you have found a new toy in the washroom...the toilet bowl!! Ahh whenever we forget to close the door he rushes towards it and as soon as we say "Grayden NO" he of course goes even faster and stands right up to the toilet and if he's lucky....he splash away in there. He is SOOO fast its unbelievable!! Ahh it is soo grouse!!! Mommy and daddy have got to get that under control and atleast remember to keep the toilet lid CLOSED! oh yah you love to flush the toilet now too.

You are officially a walker! You walk everywhere and prefer to walk rather than crawl to where ever you want to go. You are still a little wobbly but Its so cute to watch you stand there and catch your balance. Your hands are no longer on dirty floors..Yay!! You have started to point to everything. Whenever you want something you point at it and whenever you are walking somewhere you point in the direction you want to go.

You just started giving us this adorable little frown!! Whenever someone does something you don't like or if you don't get your way you give them the cutest little frown and squint your little eyebrows. It is sooo funny right now which makes it hard to stay firm with you when you've done something wrong, We chuckle every time!

You cut another tooth this month right on your birthday! You now have 3 teeth on the bottom and 4 on the top. You eat all sorts of food and there isn't one thing you don't like... you love all your fruits and all your vegetables especially your greens!! I am so lucky your not a pickey eater!! Still nursing just as much as last month and that won't be changing for a while.

You have started to say a couple more words such as BYE, HI and you try to say KIARA but its sounds more like kaahh. You love to open books and point to all the pictures and try to read to yourself with all the rambling you do....It's so cute to watch. This month you discovered your favorite show! You LOVE .... absolutely LOVE "My friends Tigger and Pooh" Every time we turn it on and you hear the theme song you get the HUGEST smile on your face!! It is the funniest thing that you could love a show so much already. You could sit there all by yourself for the entire 30 minutes just watching it. You don't care for any other cartoon except that one. When we rock you to sleep you toss and turn and fuss until we turn on that show and then you immediately stop to watch with a smile on your face. You usually always fall asleep within the first 10 minutes.

Grayden is still sleeping with me at bedtime!!! I know I know...I could be in BIG trouble here!! I usually put him in his playpen and he'll sleep in there for a few hours and then wakes up around 2 and then I bring him in bed with me until morning. He loves sleeping with his mommy probably just as much as I love snuggling with him. He loves to get right close and cosy. They are some of my favorite times with you. I stay up for a few extra minutes just to stare and breathe him all in. I love to smell his baby skin and his sweet baby breathe. I hope those are things I will never forget. He is just so peaceful and still laying there and I don't get many moments like that anymore so I make sure to take a few extra minutes and soak it all in. I will cherish those cuddles the rest of my days.

At one years old Grayden weighs in at 22.2 Lbs and is 28" Tall. You have lost most of your baby fat and looks just so much like a little toddler now. It amazes me to see pictures that were taken just 2 months ago and then to see how much older you look now. You are the most beautiful boy I have ever seen!!
Grayden, one year ago today you changed my world completely. Becoming a mommy has made me look at the world completely different and I have become a much better person because of you. You have opened my heart to whole new meaning of love that I have never known before. The day you were born was the happiest day of my life and this year has been SUCH a blessing. I am so thankful for your health and the joy you bring into mommy's and daddy's lives. I have never been so happy and that is all because of you. Thank-you for the best year of my life!! I hope you always know how much mommy and daddy love you.

FIVE generations here !!!

He is the light of my life !!

I cannot believe Grayden is turning One years old one week from today! I am having all sorts of mixed emotions about this and I'm not sure why. I guess I am just realizing the baby in him is gone which is a stage I truely miss, and because the year just flew by so fast. As much as I miss the "baby stage" I am loving watching this little boy grow up and develope his own unique personality. He is more fun everyday and I cannot believe how much love I have for this little guy. I don't know how many times I pick him up and squeeze him and just think to my self how much I love him. He is PURE joy and love in my life. I am going to soak you up this week as it's your last week being officially a "baby" next week you will be considered a toddler (that is so weird for me to even say) But no matter how old you are or how old you get..... you will always be my baby :) (sappy I know) LoL

11 months old...ALMOST ONE!!!

I can't believe my baby is turing ONE next month!! I remember so clearly a year ago when he was still inside of me and thinking that next month our baby will finally be here and now here I am a year later thinking about my sons FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! We are SO EXCITED for his birthday but pretty emotional as well. We are creating a slideshow for his birthday which I have been working on everyday and when I go through all his pics it just brings a tear to my eye that he has grown up so fast. I remember every little moment like it was yesterday and I just want more and more. He has brought so much joy into our lives its unbelievable. We have ordered all his party supplies online already and I am making all of his invetations. We are going all out for him this year .... people wonder why because he won't even remember but your FIRST birthday only happens ONCE and mommy and daddy will remember :)

He is one BUSY boy these days!! We have baby proofed almost everything around here, yet he still manages to find things to get into and I feel like I am always running after him or grabbing him away from something or somewhere....I don't understand? I'm trying to use "no" less frequently. I don't like saying no all the time and I don't want him to think his mom is the "no" machine. I will try and use other techniques more often. He is rambling so much these days. Its funny listening to him when he's in a bad mood or annoyed at something. The sounds he can make while trying to express himself are hilarious."Mamma" and "Dadda" are frequent words around here. Thats about all the words he can pronounce as of yet.

Grayden cut another two teeth this month. Right now he has both front teeth top and bottom and one more cut through on the top on Jan 17th (almost 11 months) I think he is cutting another three right now. He is about to have four teeth up top. It's almost through and I think another one is coming on the top and one on the bottom. He is so miserable especially at night. He has never had a problem teething until now and its not fun to watch him in so much pain. I have started giving him a tiny bit of that oral numbing gel to help him at night and as soon as I run it on he instantly falls back to sleep. Poor little thing :(
I love his little smile now that he has all this teeth..haha he has a pretty big gap up top and just so cute. It is so strange to see my little baby with what feels like a "mouthful" of teeth.

What else does Grayden love this month
Grayden Loves to play in his ball pit and throw out all his balls. He's really into taking everything out of things and then be done with it. He'll empty out all the toys in his toy box and then crawl away without playing with any of them. Just likes to make a mess I guess. He loves crawling up stairs and just recently learned to crawl down them. Our playtime has become so much more fun now that he can interact so much more. He thinks that I am the funniest person in the whole wide world, and we spend lots of time giggling together throughout the day. His laugh makes me laugh, and I love that I know a million ways to crack him up. He loves to be tickled, Especially if it is after crawling behind him saying "I'm gonna get you." he gets so excited, he tries to crawl away so fast, but looks behind himself, sees me, and cracks up. He loves patty cake right now and loves to clap along on command. As soon as you sing patty cake or clap your hands he immediately claps with you. Kisses are also a new favorite thing this month. Or should I say MOMMY'S favorite thing :) You say kisses and he turns towards your lips and opens his mouth real wide and gives you a nice big wet kiss.....Its so sweet !
Books continue to be a favorite and he loves to go grab a book and turn the pages all on his own now. Waving hi and by are fun ways to enter and leave a room now, he gets a big grin on his face when he waves and thinks he is so cool. He loves to find the keys to the computer filing cabnet and try to put them in the key hole. I can throw the keys any where in the room and he knows exactly where they go. Such a smart boy :)

Not much new in the food department. He's tried a few new things like spaghetti, spinach, a few suppers we eat like veggie chilli and jumbiliya etc etc. Breastfeeding is still going well. Gray is still nursing about 4 or 5 times a day and it is still one of the most favorite times of the day for both of us. He is so snugly and affectionate, and he loves that special time with me probably as much as I do. I don't plan on weaning him ANYTIME soon.

Grayden started to take steps for the first time this month.....we haven't had a whole lot of time this month practicing with him but the last couple days we have and he doesn't seem all that interested. This month went by so quickly and I hope this month drags on and on as much as possible.

I can't believe it has almost been a year with him in our lives. You don't realize how time really flies by until you have a child....(for me anyway) Grayden you are my favorite person In the whole world. I love you so much

My walking man

Wow I can't beleive it !! grayden just took his first steps today January 20th two days away from being 11 months old. It came totally un-expected. He's been able to stand completely balanced all on his own for a while now and for a couple minutes at a time so we knew he could probably walk but he never took a step. We have been trying for a while to get him to walk but he wasn't interestedI

This morning I was making breakfast and Grayden was in his favorite place of the house ( the pantry ) He was just standing there all by himself so I dangled the broom in front of him and all of a sudden he took two steps!! I was so shocked and excited...I ran upstairs to get the video camera and I was able to catch the second time around on camera for daddy to see.

To be honest I can't wait for him to start walking around everywhere. It has been such a pet peeve of mine watching him crawl all over peoples dirty floors. He gets into mostly everything and anything anyway so I dont think him walking will change alot in that department. He is growing up so fast !!

First Illness..

Grayden got sick for the very first time on saturday January 3rd. We had a bath just before bed and pretty much as soon as he got out of the bath it instantly hit him. He seemed so happy in his bath?!?! Daddy put all his balls from his ball pit into his bath and he LOVED it, but like I said as soon as he came out he was just miserable. That was a rough night.....he had a nasty sounding chest cough and just not himself at all. It was so hard to see him so Ill and hurting but not able to do anything for them.
